Terms of engagement
These terms apply to every survey we carry out. We send them to you with your booking confirmation as well.
Scope
The survey is carried out to the RICS Home Survey Standard at the level you book. It is a visual inspection of what is accessible on the day and does not include opening up the structure or testing services.
Fees
The fee is fixed at the point of booking and is payable before the report is issued. If the property turns out to be materially different from what you told us, we tell you the revised fee before we proceed.
Access
We arrange access with the agent or seller. If access is refused or the property is not ready on the day, we rebook at no extra cost.
Cancellation
Cancel more than 48 hours before the inspection and you get a full refund. Inside 48 hours we retain a contribution towards the surveyor's time, which we tell you about at the time.
Reliance and liability
The report is for your use in relation to that purchase. You may share it with your solicitor, lender or broker. Our liability is limited as set out in the report and in the engagement letter, and we hold professional indemnity insurance.
